Community Day Participating Businesses

Community Day is on Saturday, September 18th. This is a day for our WHOLE community to come together to raise money for Scotts Valley public schools by shopping, dining, and playing at our local businesses. To read more about our Community Day event click here.

Below is a list of the current businesses participating and will be edited frequently as businesses are added and details are determined.

Aunt Lali’s Treats – 10% of sales
Baskin Robbins – TBD
Bruno’s Barbeque – 10% of sales
Canepa Design – 100% of Group Tours
Club One, Inc. – TBD
DVD To Go – TBD
Elite Martial Arts Academy – 100% of proceeds from Bully Buster “How to Defeat the Bully Without Fighting” seminar. Seminar is from 1:00pm-2:00pm with pizza served afterward. $20 one child, $10 each additional sibling.
Papa Murphy’s Pizza Take & Bake- $2 from every regular pizza ordered in Scotts Valley (no coupons allowed), when Community Day is mentioned.
Postal Annex – TBD
Round Table Pizza – 15% of sales on non-discounted/non-couponed sales in Scotts Valley
Rub A Dub Dog – 50% of each wash, when Community Day is mentioned.
Santa Cruz Pasta Factory – 30% of proceeds
Scotts Valley Carpet Cleaning – Call on September 18th to schedule a carpet cleaning and receive 20% off, with an additional 20% going to the SVEF.
Scotts Valley Cycle Sport – TBD
Scotts Valley Market – TBD
Togo’s – $1 will be donated for every combo (drink and chips) added to an order in Scotts Valley

Dollar A Day Reaches $22,000

We have reached $22,000. for our Dollar A Day campaign! Lets keep working at it. You will soon see banners posted at each of the schools to show the progress through out the year of where we are on our fundraising goals. We are showing the goal of $950,000 for SVUSD, for the school year 20011_12. Hopefully that will be raised in many ways, not only through SVEF but we still will show the full goal for the district overall.

Tell your friends and neighbors to contribute, if they can. Next year it will only get harder to make cuts to a budget that is already way too low. Help where you can. Christmas Trees Bring in almost $15,000.

We are happy to announce that our Christmas Tree Lot that we had in December brought in almost $15,000 net profit for our schools.

Again, we thank everyone that helped us to make that possible.

I’d like to thank everyone for supporting our Christmas Tree Lot. We sold out today, every tree on the lot! We really appreciate all of our volunteers and customers, we obviously couldn’t do it without you. We also want to put in a special thank you to the Scotts Valley Kiwanis group for everything they did, and our set up crew for building out the lot and our electricans – the Bustichi’s, Alexander’s and Strattford’s and many many more.

Christmas Here We Come!

Our Christmas Tree Lot is coming back by popular demand. We are excited to announce that we once again are in the Christmas tree business. The lot will open the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27th. Special opening day hours will be 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. We will be open until we sell out. The regular hours are:

Thursdays 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Fridays 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sundays 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Please come and support Scotts Valley public schools by purchasing your trees, wreaths, ornaments and poinsettia plants here.

This is a really fun opportunity for students to receive community service hours and an event for the whole family to be involved in. To help out at the lot, please click here Sign Me Up! for a 3.5 hr shift. Sign up today!

Music at Sky Park – Fantastic!

We had a great turn out this summer at both of our Music at Sky Park event on July 26th and August 30th. 4th Annual Oktoberfest – Benefits SVEF

Scotts Valley Rotary is holding their 4th Annual Oktoberfest and supports SVEF by donating tickets to sell. Please buy your $10. ticket from any of the Scotts Valley Public Schools (in their office) and write your check directly to SVEF. Or contact SVEF at info@svef.net. Oktoberfest details:

Date: Friday, October 16, 2009
Time: Doors Open at 6PM
Location: Scotts Valley Sports and Event Center – 251 Kings Village Road (across from the SV transit station), Scotts Valley, CA 95066
Admission: $10 per person, food and drink (full bar) are extra
Entertainment: Live, Authentic Oktoberfest Band, “The Internationals,” who also perform at the German Oktoberfest in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Also performing will be Oktoberfest dancers that you are welcome to join.

Fun for the whole family! Come to Music in the Park Sunday August 30th. This event is put on jointly by Scotts Valley Educational Foundation and Kiwanis, to benefit Scotts Valley Schools.

We start serving food at 4:00pm and the band starts at 5:00pm. Come hear some rockin good music and support your schools!

To celebrate their Grand Opening, Tim’s Chinese is giving away lunch!…..AND helping to raise money for the Felton Volunteer Fire Department and the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation. Next door, Yogurt Delite will be giving away free cones! So mark your calendar and eat a light breakfast on the 14th, ‘cause lunch & dessert are free!

SVEF will be selling Music at Sky Park T-shirts as well as SVEF Frisbees to help raise money for the schools.

Music in the Park

We are busy working on our newest event, Music in the Park. We will be posting more information soon, but here are the important details:

There are two concerts this summer, and two great rocking bands. On Sunday July 26th at 5:00 PM we have Houserockers and on Sunday August 30th we have CityRocks. There will be BBQ, Pizza, Wine, Beer, and other treats at each event, so bring the whole family and come for dinner. All proceeds will go directly to the SVEF to help support our schools.
