The SVEF Mt. Charlie Challenge is a fundraising bike ride to benefit all Scotts Valley public schools. All funds raised go directly to SVEF to support district-wide school programs. Last year we raised $29,000 for our schools. Help us raise even more this year! To view pictures from last year click here.
Mt. Charlie Challenge will be held on Saturday May 5, 2012. Click here to register online. This year our event will offer your choice of 100-mile, 100K or 50K route. The 100k and 50k routes will start and end at Skypark in Scotts Valley. The 100-mile route is still being determined. The 100K Metric Century (62 miles), climbs to the Summit by wineries and beautiful redwoods, then travels through Corralitos, Aptos, Santa Cruz and returns to Scotts Valley. See the original 100K route map for more details. This past year the route had been modified since Highland Way has been closed for repairs. See the modified 100K route map and cue sheet for this year. See the event flyer for more information.
The 50K Half Century (32 miles), has less challenging climbs and travels through the redwoods, has a rest top at a vineyard, continues on to Aptos and returns to Scotts Valley. See the 50K route map for more details. All routes offer beautiful scenery, ride support, lunch and refreshments. The rides are followed by a family luncheon at Skypark with great music of Back to Nowhere and activities, including a children’s ride in Skypark. Registration check-in starts at 7:00 am for all routes. We will have a mass start at 8 am after a quick group photo. Please print out the flyer for all the details and start your training! We will start sign-ups on active.com, in January. To see the sponsorship levels for this event see our sponsorship flyer.

We appreciate any donation you or folks you know would like to give! A special THANK YOU to our sponsors! Sponsoring an event is a great way to get your name out in the community while helping a great cause. Most of the SVEF events would not be possible without the help of local sponsors.
