Mt Charlie Challenge Pledge Ride
![]()
The SVEF Mountain Charlie Challenge is a pledge ride to benefit all Scotts Valley public schools. All funds raised go directly to SVEF to support school programs. This year we raised $29,000. for our schools.
This Year’s Event
Thanks to everyone that made this year’s Mt. Charlie Challenge Pledge Ride a huge success. Every year our volunteers, sponsors and cyclists make this one of our most fun and productive fundraisers for our local schools. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
Our event offers your choice of a 100K or 50K route. Both rides start and end at Skypark in Scotts Valley. The 100K Metric Century (62 miles), climbs to the summit by wineries and beautiful redwoods, then travels through Corralitos, Aptos, Santa Cruz and returns to Scotts Valley. See the 100K route map for more detail.
The 50K Half Century (32 miles), has less challenging climbs and travels through the redwoods, has a rest top at a vineyard, continues on to Aptos and returns to Scotts Valley. See the 50K route map for more detail.
Both routes offer beautiful scenery, ride support, lunch and refreshments. The rides are followed by a family luncheon at Skypark with great music.
Registration check in starts at 7:00 am for both routes. We will have a mass start at 8am after a quick photo.
Please print and fill out the Registration Form and Release Form and start your training! We will be sending out emails on available training rides.

Sponsoring an event is a great way to get your name out in the community while helping a great cause. Most of the SVEF events would not be possible without the help of local sponsors.
