The SVEF Mt. Charlie Challenge is a fundraising ride to benefit all Scotts Valley public schools. Our ride will be Saturday May 5th. All funds raised go directly to SVEF to support district-wide school programs.

Get your logo on our next advertisement, website and t-shirt. You can become a sponsor of the ride with three levels to choose from. Click on the Mt. Charlie Event Page link, then click on the sponsorship flyer for more details. Riders are encouraged to get pledges for the ride by selling raffle tickets and soliciting corporate and private sponsorships and donations, which are all tax-deductible.

For all of you students wanting community service hours, you can come by the lot tomorrow after school and help with set up and we will give you the hours. We will need many people to put all the tents back up and get them watered and the lot back in working order.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. It has been a very sad day for the SV Kiwanis tents! What a mess! See you all at the lot tomorrow at 3:30pm!

Scotts Valley Artisans started a raffle today to raise money for our Scotts Valley Schools. Each of the approximately 100 local artists and artisans will be donating a piece of their artwork to the raffle. Raffle tickets can be purchased at Artisans for $2 each or 5 for $5. Simply place your raffle tickets into the prize box next to the artwork you like most! With so many artists participating, you have many chances to win some fabulous items! The raffle will run from Friday, November 25th through Sunday, December 18th. There is no limit to how many tickets you put into a single piece. All proceeds will benefit the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation, which supports critical programs at all our SV schools. This year, the Foundation was able to contribute $55,000 to the libraries keeping them open each day at each site. An additional $44,000 was provided to offset the loss of counseling services at each school. An additional $30,000 was contributed to support technology needs at each school.

The drawing for the winner will be December 18th at 4:00 pm.

Scotts Valley Artisans is located in the King’s Village Shopping Center on Mt. Hermon Road, next to Erik’s Deli.

This year, the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation (SVEF) saved the libraries and counselors at all four Scotts Valley schools. Threatened by closure, SVEF stepped in and spent nearly $100,000 to keep these vital programs afloat. We also earmarked $30,000 to support technology needs on each campus, for a grand total of $129,000 for our schools.

As you may know, public schools in California are hurting, and Scotts Valley schools are woefully underfunded by the state. That’s why SVEF is so crucial, because its sole mission is to raise the resources needed to support quality educational programs at all four Scotts Valley schools.

We will need volunteers this Sunday, November 20 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, at the Christmas Tree Lot on the corner of Scotts Valley Drive and Disc Drive. We will be setting up tents with Scotts Valley Kiwanis.

More volunteers will be needed on Wednesday November 23 for set up.  We will be unloading the truck from Oregon, trimming the tree bases and setting up the tree stands.

We have opened up more spots on the sign up sheet, so please sign up for this fun event!
