President
Lindsey Rice
Lindsey is excited to take on the role of President for SVEF this year. Previously, she has been the President of the Brook Knoll PTO and Site Council, Board Member for Big Brothers, Big Sisters and has been an active committee member for the Scotts Valley Middle School PTA. She also successfully co-led two election campaigns for the Scotts Valley Unified School District, Measure O and Measure V, which will result in over $90 million for our schools.

With two children in the District, Lindsey knows that it takes a village to raise our children and is thankful to live in this supportive and invested community. In her free time, Lindsey loves to travel, ski and play tennis.

Vice President
Bethany Jensen
Bethany is joining the SVEF board this year as Vice President. She and her husband have a son going into 6th grade and a daughter going into 8th grade both at the Scotts Valley Middle School. Bethany served as Vice President of the Brook Knoll Elementary PTO for two years working to build and operationalize the Knoll Gardens program, identifying grant opportunities and expanding upon enrichment opportunities while maintaining a healthy and sustainable budget.
She works as a Sr. Category Manager for a Software company driving financial value while balancing speed, effectiveness and risk.

Communications Manager
Cheryl Noble
Cheryl is joining SVEF as the Communications Manager. She previously co-chaired the SVUSD Measure V and Measure O campaigns to raise over $90 million for Scotts Valley schools. She has a background in social work and public health, and has spent the past 15 years providing strategic planning and research services for initiatives that enable leaders in the academic and social sectors to increase their impact.

Cheryl and her husband have lived in Scotts Valley since 2018, and have two sons in SVUSD schools (Brook Knoll Elementary and Scotts Valley Middle School). She is passionate about partnering with community members to support excellent education.

Assistant Treasurer
Teri Goldwasser
Teri is serving her third year on the SVEF board, this year as Assistant Treasurer. In years’ past, she served as Social Media Chair on the SVEF Board and at Scotts Valley Middle School, on Vine Hill Elementary’s School Site Council, done auction procurement for Vine Hill’s PTA, and occasionally volunteers at Scotts Valley High. Teri also cycles 200 miles every September for the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Club to fundraise for local youth organizations.
Now that Teri has a son in college and a senior at SV High, she knows the value of a community that supports robust public education. In her free time, she enjoys training and racing in triathlons, live music, nature and the outdoors, theater, and visiting with friends and family.

Past President
Dr. Nicole Maedor Mace
Dr. Nicole Meador Mace is an Educational Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in education, including roles as a K–12 teacher, reading specialist, college professor, and mentor to new educators. She works closely with students and families to support both academic success and social-emotional development.
Since 2018, Dr. Meador Mace has been an active leader in the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation, serving as Vice President and President, writing grants, and leading fundraising efforts to support local schools. She continues to volunteer her expertise to families across California and is passionate about strengthening educational communities and promoting student well-being.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing and teaching dance, running, and relaxing by the ocean.

Board Member at Large
Janine Snyder
Janine Snyder has been a proud Scotts Valley resident since 2000 and is an alumna of Vine Hill, SVMS, and SVHS (Class of 2015). She holds a B.S. in Education and Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University and has worked in a variety of educational settings. Her experience includes teaching at a Catholic preschool in Phoenix, leading retreats for high school students in Scotland, and serving as lead TK/K teacher at Champions Before and After School Program at Vine Hill and Brook Knoll. She currently works as a primary teacher assistant at Montessori Community School in Scotts Valley.
When not serving in the classroom, Janine enjoys hiking Glenwood Preserve with her dog, Gus, and singing in her church choir.

Janine is very blessed to be on the SVEF board and loves giving back to the schools that have made her who she is today.
