4th Annual Mt. Charlie Challenge Bike Ride

The Scotts Valley Educational Foundation (SVEF) 4th annual 100K and 50K ride, “Mountain Charlie Challenge” on May 6, 2006 was a big success. Thanks to all those who helped.

The Metric Century (62 miles) ride climbed to the summit, by wineries and beautiful redwoods, then traveled through Corralitos, Aptos, Santa Cruz and returned to Scotts Valley.

The Half Century (32 miles) had less challenging climbs but still offered a tour through the redwoods, a rest stop at a vineyard, and on to Aptos, returning to Scotts Valley.

The SVEF Mountain Charlie Challenge is a pledge ride to benefit all Scotts Valley public schools. All funds raised will go directly to SVEF to support school programs.

Thank you Scotts Valley

Dear Scotts Valley Community,

It is with our deepest gratitude that we thank you for your generous support of the 2004 Dollar a Day Campaign. Because of your selfless donations, schools in the Scott Valley Unified School District are able to provide essential services to our students. Fortunately, the cuts sent down to us by the state of California appear non-existent to our student population.

Your thoughtfulness has allowed the continuation of many vital student services. We can continue to have counselors and library clerks in our schools. Both the high school and middle school have assistant principals. Art and music will again be offered at both Vine Hill and Brook Knoll. Our students in grades kindergarten through third grade will reap the benefit of the twenty to one class size reduction program. For all of this, we thank you.

Scotts Valley Schools continue to be the best and provide our students with an outstanding education. The Board of Trustees, the Superintendent and the entire Scotts Valley staff thank you for your commitment to the students of our schools. Because of your generosity, we will continue to do so. Additionally, as we embark on the Dollar a Day Campaign 2005, we look forward to your support.

Please join us for a celebration of our community’s Dollar a Day accomplishments at the annual Bean Creek Run on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Skypark. Stop by our Dollar a Day Celebration Booth!

Sincerely,

Kathy Dunton, Vine Hill
Kathy Frandle, Brook Knoll
Mary Lonhart, SVMS
Nancy Serigstad, SVHS
